David - Director

Hello everyone! My name is David and I am in my fifth year of Materials Engineering specializing in metals and polymers, and a minor in economics. The sciences have always been my strong suit and if you have a knack for the sciences, you should definitely consider engineering and L.E.A.P.! I chose engineering because I believe it is a way to change the world for the better. After I graduate, I plan on doing my Masters or to the workplace where I know I can make a difference. My hobbies include playing games, sports, hanging out with friends and travelling. I am super excited to meet you all and to start this jam packed summer :D!

Kristin - Assistant Director

Hey friends! My name is Kristin and I am in my third year of Mechanical Engineering and Management. In the future, I plan to go into the aerospace industry, designing spacecraft and satellites. For as long as I can remember, math and sciences have always been intriguing and stimulating for me. L.E.A.P. is a great place to learn how to apply those concepts to real-life. This is what makes engineering so awesome! Aside from engineering, I like to spend my time dancing, roller blading, and participating in McMaster’s Concrete Toboggan Team and Engineering Musical. I'm thrilled to meet you all, and know we will have a fantastic summer!

Marc - Assistant Director

Hi everyone! My name is Marc and I am in my third year of Materials Engineering and Society. I chose engineering because I've always enjoyed thinking outside the box and trying to solve the unsolvable problems. When I graduate, I hope to work in the bio materials field developing new medical devices and bio synthetic skins. Since I've been at Mac, I've been keeping up with sports by playing volleyball and soccer, while also joining new and interesting groups like the McMaster's Concrete Toboggan Team and McMaster Engineering Musical. I'm always interested in trying new things and doing puzzles to challenge myself! I can't wait to meet you all and have an incredible summer together!

Adrian - Lab Curriculum Coordinator

Hey everyone! My name is Adrian and I am in my fourth year of Chemical and Bioengineering. From however long I can remember, both the small-scale reactions of the sciences and the large-scale applications of engineering have always interested me. At the end of the day, I chose to do both! In the future, I plan on pursuing a graduate degree in biomedical engineering, and hope to contribute to our healthcare system. Aside from school, my interests lie in travelling, exploring cultures, and food. I cannot wait to meet you all and I am looking forward to an awesome summer!

Francesco - Electronic Curriculum Coordinator

Hello, my name is Francesco and I am in my fourth year of the Mechatronics Engineering and Society program at McMaster University. I chose this program because I am passionate about all things related to robotics. I got involved with L.E.A.P. because I want to inspire young people to pursue a career in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. My hobbies include hiking through nature, playing video games, and being part of the McMaster Baja Racing team. I am very excited to be working for L.E.A.P. this summer!

Steph - Computer Science Curriculum Coordinator

Hey! My name is Stephanie, and I'm in my fourth year studying Computer Science. Ever since I was a child I loved taking things apart and putting them back together. As a child when we got our first family computer, I remember taking it all apart and nearly giving my parents a heart attack when they saw their new computer in pieces. Empowering all children to get involved with STEM is so important and teaching children to conquer their fears and not being afraid to try things that might be difficult at first. When I graduate I hope to combine my love of psychology with software to make applications to aid people suffering from mental illnesses. In my spare time I love organizing and attending hackathons, hiking with my puppy, and embroidering! I'm so excited for this summer to meet all of you!!

Ray - Computer Science

Hi guys, my name is Ray and I am in my second year of Computer Science. I was completely lost on what to do going into university until I fell in love with all things software in my last couple years at high school. Computer science and software engineering have always been fascinating fields for me, as they are some of the most powerful tools for solving real world problems such as education and poverty. Tech startups are everywhere these days, with every programmer hoping to be the creator of the next Facebook or Microsoft. There has never been a field with so many different opportunities, ranging from developing new operating systems to improving video game graphics to virtual reality! When I'm out of university I hope to join the startup which will bring the next big change to the industry. Outside of my program, I've been on the cast of the McMaster Engineering Musical 2 years now and I also spend many a night singing my heart out at open-mic karaoke. I look forward to creating the craziest hacks with you guys!

Madeeha - Computer Science

Hi, my name is Madeeha and I just finished my second year of computer science. I originally came to Mac for Life Sci, but realized that I loved solving puzzles and math a lot more than chemistry and physics, so I switched programs! I love comp sci because I get to make cool things and learn more about computers. Besides that, I love watching TV shows, hockey, and travelling. I joined LEAP because I get to teach something I'm really passionate about to people who are also passionate about it!
